Our Establishment History
The Institute was established in the year 1964 in the village Chenga of Eastern part of Barpeta District, Assam. It was established by the Govt. of Assam which was directed by the Directorate of elementary education, Assam from its birth. In the year 1985 it belongs to under SCERT by the Govt. of Assam. The foundation stone of the institution was laid by former president of india F.A. Ali Ahmed. In 2016, our Institution got recognization from NCTE to run D.El.Ed course with an intake capacity of 50 trainees per year under the rule and regulations of NCTE.

The main objective of establishment of BTS, Chenga was to impart basic training course for the elementary teachers apart from formal education
Our Mission
To impart value based quality teacher training as demanded by the professionand to introduce other teacher training programme in future to meet the growing need of trained teacher.
